Why Does Your Company Need a Maintenance Contract?

A maintenance agreement will give you peace of mind and guarantee that you are given priority, high quality care and service when and where needed. The key benefits can be summarized as follows:

Running any network Operating System such as Windows 2000/2003 with numerous clients requires regular maintenance by qualified technicians. This is specifically required due to regular user management, setting rights and permissions and security and data backup management.

Our regular and preventative maintenance checks on your network will make sure you never experience any problems such as systems being out of service due to a software or hardware malfunction or security breach or virus attack.

Our help and support will be always available via phone or an onsite visit by a qualified engineer when and where needed- regardless of how long it takes- without incurring any extra charges.

Having a maintenance agreement is very cost-effective as you pay a flat fee rather than a per hour fee. Also it must be noted that in ad hoc service usage, you are not entitled to a premium service and your request for service will be queued as a normal non-contract customer. This means that you may not receive 3-hour response or same day service if no engineers are available.  Besides, you will not be entitled to telephone support or emergency service. In ad hoc service, Network Doctor is not responsible for the overall well-being of the network and they will be focusing only on the specific fault or problem reported.

Having a maintenance agreement means that Network Doctor, as your maintenance provider, will have full responsibility for all your network hardware, software and security issues. In fact, we will act as your IT department and help is always at hand. All users will have access to support whenever they need it and you can be sure that your network is properly maintained and every aspect of the network is looked after.

What is the procedure if I want to have a maintenance contract?

If you decide to consider a maintenance contract, you should call 0207 516 1077 or email info@networkdoctor.co.uk and make a booking with one of our service engineers. After agreeing on a convenient date and time, we will come and see you to discuss your specific needs. We will also carry out an initial survey of the site that will be the subject of the maintenance contract. Based on your specific requirements and your objectives, we will send you a proposal on how best we can prepare your existing network for maintenance or integrate your existing equipment into a newly designed infrastructure tailored to your needs. In the proposal, we will detail all the work that will be carried out plus terms and conditions of service. In the proposal, we will offer our solutions based on the objectives you want to achieve. This will include all the required equipment, software, procedures, implementation plan, maintenance schedule and the one-off and on-going monthly maintenance charges. You will have a full picture about what exactly will happen when we take over the maintenance of your network. Once you receive our proposal, you can review, amend or discuss any details included in the proposal. After finalizing the agreement, we will send you a final copy of the agreement to sign. On the agreed dates, we will prepare or implement your network and thereafter you can enjoy the benefits of our service as detailed in the maintenance contract.

An agreed level of service is written into a Service Contract which typically will cover:

  • Procurement and installation of new network devices or computers
  • Network upgrades and additions
  • Preventative measures to avoid physical disruption of your computer network.
  • Monitoring servers and workstations network connectivity, speed and performance.
  • Internet connection availability across the network
  • Email and Exchanger Server troubleshooting
  • Computer hardware fixes and repairs
  • Network security and network Intrusion detection
  • System backup implementation and verification
  • Protection from viral, Trojan, spyware or malware infection
  • Remote monitoring and administration of the servers and workstations
  • Preventative on-site and off-site hardware and software maintenance on servers and workstations
  • On-site visit if fault cannot be rectified remotely or via the telephone
  • Application of manufacturers service packs, hot fixes for Windows 98/NT/2000/2003 and XP systems.
